A borrowed quote

Though some fear children will be clingy and dependent if not "made" to learn to self-soothe or that too much attention will spoil them, the opposite is true, for responsively meeting needs from infancy helps a child grow into secure interdependence. As fruit that is left alone and forgotten too long will spoil, "spoiling" happens when parents don't give their babies the love and comfort they desperately need.

Ten years ago today our sweet Maddy came into our lives.  Madeline,  you are so beloved by your mommy and Daddy, we treasure you!  Anyone who knows Maddy can attest to what a sweet and generous spirit God has given her.  I am always amazed by her willingness to serve and give.  I often find my bed made beautifully and room straightened by her before I've had opportunity to get to it and boy does that feel wonderful! We always call on Madeline when we need her photographic memory!  She always knows where everything is.  I love her devotion to all her siblings and her constant notes of encouragement to us all!  We love you Madeline!

I just opened my cupboard....

pulled out a glass, turned on my faucet and filled my glass with cold fresh water. I drank the water and my thirst was quenched. I didn't think much about it because it's something I experience quite regularly; every day, all day, in fact.
This December, "dollar for a drink", raised 10,000 dollars to build a well in Sudan, so that a village there will now be able to experience...quenched thirst.
"Dollar for a drink" is an organization directed by 16 year old Joshua Guthrie...

Hey y'all, it's that time of year again....What time you ask? Why it's time for the Indianapolis Colts to win the Super Bowl! So let's all rally around Saturday to cheer them on as they whoop the Chargers( yes my loyalties to San Diego are nil ) I know that none of my blogger friends are football fans, but that's ok cuz my sweetie is and I'm sure at least he will get a kick out of my "make do" Colt template.
