GO COLTS GO!

Hey y'all, it's that time of year again....What time you ask? Why it's time for the Indianapolis Colts to win the Super Bowl! So let's all rally around Saturday to cheer them on as they whoop the Chargers( yes my loyalties to San Diego are nil ) I know that none of my blogger friends are football fans, but that's ok cuz my sweetie is and I'm sure at least he will get a kick out of my "make do" Colt template.

My Saviour is soooo good. Just been reflecting on how cool it is that two years ago when I had no clue there was a place called B-----, a guy was writing a blog that would lend me comfort today. A coincidence? I think not. I believe that is who my Saviour is. He is well aquainted with the grief of seperation. He planned for my comfort way back then....Hallelujah, What a Saviour! My weekend with Denny was full of the same kind of care from Christ which I will post about soon. You know what, His Grace IS Enough.

Found this great blog tonight written by a soldier who's already home. He probably had no idea when he wrote this blog 2 years ago what relief he would bring to a wife wondering about her husband. He wrote a detailed description about the base where Den will be. I am so happy about this!

My suitcase is packed, all the details worked out and in less than 24 hours I get to see my beloved husband! I am so thankful to all my dear friends who are making it possible for this trip to happen!

O Christmas tree

Imagine a big 15 passenger van pulling up to Home Depot at 5 till 7 on a Sunday night and and then picture 9 excited kids and one harried mom piling out of the van in search of the perfect Christmas tree. As they walk up to the door there's a man with keys starting to lock the door but as he realizes what this group is up to, he has pity and says, "Can you pick one out in 5 minutes?" Now hum "Run,Run,Rudolph" to yourself as you see this motley crew running through Home Depot, looking at ten trees in 60 seconds, grabbing the best of the lot and then running to the register... mom, teenagers, toddlers, the whole lot giggling in delight as home depot employees stare in amazement. (Sometimes my life feels like a movie).

the only problem? 23lb turkeys take about 100 hours to thaw not 60.
Off to HEB to get a precooked for the first time ever. It was smoked and smokin good....yum
